TAKE ME WITH YOU
Baby here comes the sun, Don’t look surprised
Look up and see those heart shaped skies
And if this is heaven then let’s keep love alive
I can see above the clouds
Take me with you
Take me with you
I’m blowing purple crystals up against the silvery moon
And through my window pain I can see the daffodils will blossom soon
You can help me cope with these feelings so new
Feel my heart beating out loud
Sometimes I admit I don’t know what to do
All I know is want you to take me
Take me with you
Baby we can ride untill the break of dawn
And enjoy the late night kisses while laying in eachother’s arms
From the cradle to the grave let’s keep love alive
Feel your heart beating out loud
See the moon above the clouds
Sometimes I admit I don’t know what to do
All I know is want you to take me
When the morning comes tell me what you wanna do?
All I know is I want you to take me
Take me with you
Take me with you

Like Amsterdam With No Canals
Posted by Johnny in Latin, Pop, Pop Contemporary on February 3rd, 2010
We still have to go through some pronunciation issues Jules (Julian Wilson – lyrics) and me, but I decided to put it up anyway. Song took me quite some time to finish must say, and perhaps it’s better to have it online for some time while listening if it should have repairs.
Song started off when I wanted to have something “Amsterdam” (my hometown) in a song. It’s only one line in this song and for now, it’s title. But perhaps the title should be You Are My Compass - which also has a pronunciation issue because of stress on wrong syllable. As a matter of fact there was the idea of filling up whole song with mispronunciations…
More later.

Never Meant To Hurt You

This may be bit of a test recording for me, can’t say at the moment, it needs more listening…
There was not really a clear vision in what style the song should be so I decided to play around some, and see where the music would take me. Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn’t. But recording is a (small) celebration: number 10 of cowrites Matthews & Hoeve.

Latest Matthews & Hoeve song. Don’t know if story is clear in song, but guy leaves girl and goes travelling because relationship needs a change. Meanwhile he is doing phone calls to tell her what is on his mind, but he gets no reply. California, Oklahoma, Colorado, all done in 3 minutes. Next: around the world in 1 song? Or what about: across the universe in 3:48? Oops, is already done… Song was also discussed at songwriter101 – see what was said. |
