TAKE ME WITH YOU
Baby here comes the sun, Don’t look surprised
Look up and see those heart shaped skies
And if this is heaven then let’s keep love alive
I can see above the clouds
Take me with you
Take me with you
I’m blowing purple crystals up against the silvery moon
And through my window pain I can see the daffodils will blossom soon
You can help me cope with these feelings so new
Feel my heart beating out loud
Sometimes I admit I don’t know what to do
All I know is want you to take me
Take me with you
Baby we can ride untill the break of dawn
And enjoy the late night kisses while laying in eachother’s arms
From the cradle to the grave let’s keep love alive
Feel your heart beating out loud
See the moon above the clouds
Sometimes I admit I don’t know what to do
All I know is want you to take me
When the morning comes tell me what you wanna do?
All I know is I want you to take me
Take me with you
Take me with you

Baby Look Up

Except for dutch language songs I’ve mainly been cowriting with lyric writers for some time now. I used to do lyrics english myself but those people I work with now can do a far better job. But sometimes it’s just fun to try something myself. Or it just works out that way. I now also know that I have to keep it simple when doing an english lyric – or just let it come straight from the heart, no grammar or correctness needed for that. Anyway, here’s one that just came up, and before I knew it also the lyric to this song was done. I tried country rock for the music (can’t help liking pedal steel)
0h I know what is missing – a girl’s giggle in break of song. Coming up.

Waarom Ik Jou Nooit Meer Vergeet – W. Nelson COVER
I’m still in doubts if I should set up new site with dutch language songs only. But let me give it a go on Moonpub Music site (english) first and see how things develop.
As this is mainly a translation/Dutch language remake of Willie Nelson’s ALWAYS ON MY MIND it is not really important to make it a pefect recording – I think. I tried to stay close to the original meaning of the song – it is defenitely not a translation word by word; I tried to capture the meaning and mood of the song for dutch listeners, that’s all.
If you want to use this translation for your repertoire you’re welcome to do so. Just let me know though.

The challenge was the song’s title. Nobody wants to sing “I’m just gettin’ old”. And so how you gonna make this a fun-song to listen too? I tried speeding up the tempo a bit for someone that age, and during recordings was constantly thinking of Sean Connery for good inspiration. He don’t mind I guess… Discussion this song songwriter101.com: click here |
